Inter Milan have reportedly stepped up their move for Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka as Antonio Conte looks to reshape his squad.
Swiss publication RSI Sport says Conte’s arrival has meant Inter have stepped up their pursuit of the Switzerland captain and that Xhaka is refusing to deny the links.
And Arsenal could be open to selling because Unai Emery desperately needs to raise money to spend on transfers.
Arsenal’s failure to win the Europa League and, in turn, qualify for next season’s Champions League means Emery is shackled with a transfer budget of £45m.
Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League last season, only a point behind fourth-place Tottenham but Emery is believed to want to freshen up his squad in the coming transfer window.
The 26-year-old Xhaka joined Arsenal in May 2016 from Borussia Monchengladbach.
