A few years ago, I was asked to go to an 'in-home party' with a friend. All I knew was that it involved essential oils. I am a person who definitely prefers to go the natural route before taking medication for just about any ailment. So, I decided to go. Hey, if nothing else, oils smell good.
I had seen quite a few posts on my Facebook feed about 'Thieves', so I was super curious about that particular oil. What I took away from the party was that THAT was the one I needed to help keep my household healthy during cold and flu season. And, I was willing to do just about anything after the HORRIBLE Winter the previous year. Our house was so full of germs, I almost lost my mind. Sick, sick, sick -- CONSTANTLY.
So, again, figuring I had nothing to lose, I started putting Thieves oil on my feet every night and on the feet of my two kiddos. They enjoyed the massage and the scent. I was watching closely to see if this was a bunch of B.S. or if it would REALLY make a difference!
Kid you not, we had the healthiest Winter. Hardly a sniffle. I was truly amazed.
I'm not big into digesting oils... so I never do that. But, I know that's a 'thing' and it works well for a lot of people! I simply put them on my feet or breathe them in.
My husband kinda rolled his eyes and called me a hippie in the beginning. But gradually, when he noticed our healthier family, I think he came around a little bit. I couldn't help but smile a little when he pulled a muscle one day and asked if 'there was an oil for that'. Sure enough...
Bottom line, I wing it with oils. I do my best, but I know there is so much more to it.
So, I was super excited to meet Karen! She's one of those people who just really wants to share what she knows and help others learn. She found out that I deal with Anxiety, so out of the kindness of her heart, she stopped by the studio and brought me several different oils to help with relaxation. I've been using them faithfully and I have to say -- while I'm not sure I'll ever 'cure' my problem, they do help.
I asked Karen if she would write a little something for this blog. I'm tellin' ya... she just wants to share what she knows and lead others who are curious, but don't really know where to begin, to the wonderful world of essential oils! No sales pitch. Just a heart for helping others.
My name is Karen Holland and I welcome you to learn more about the world of pure essential oils we call Young Living. Born and raised Kansas farm girl here through and through, but living in the 'city'. I just returned from Utah where I had the privilege of visiting Young Living Farms.
As I was standing there in the field in Mona, Utah, planting a 'yarrow' in the ground, it took me back to my childhood growing up on the farm in WaKeeney, Kansas. I wouldn’t trade those days for anything! But, now this elementary and middle school science teacher loves educating others about the benefits of using Young Living essential oils and their amazing Seed to Seal process that sets Young Living apart from any essential oil company in the world. I love that Young Living owns their own 15 farms around the world to insure the best quality, pure and potent oil possible.
Young Living has hundreds of oils, but I got going with a starter kit of 11 oils as most people do. The starter kit oils are ones that my family uses on a daily basis, for a variety of different reasons. The oils provide support to the different systems in your body including respiratory support, immune support, digestive and endocrine -- just to name a few. I love how the oils bring my body into balance and helps my family stay well during any time of the year.
