This will be so much fun for everyone in your family! There is truly something for everyone of all ages. Here is the featured artist and more details about the festival!

Summit Art Festival Featured Artist

The 2016 Featured artist for the 9th Annual Summit Art Festival is Andrew Batcheller, a Kansas City native, who has called Joplin his home for the last decade. Batcheller has a long history with Summit Art. In 2010, he had his first gallery exhibit at GOT Art Gallery: Home of Summit Art. Since that time, he has shown in festivals and galleries around the metro. In 2014, he was selected as the 'Best of Show’ winner in the 7th Annual Summit Art Festival. Andrew Batcheller classifies his work as 'portraiture', using birds as analogies for the human condition. The emotional quality of his work evokes thoughtful contemplation of our own human drama. His paintings are a part of national and international collections. You can find him in booth #33 at the corner of SW Main and 3rd Street during this year's festival.

Summit Art Festival will feature over 80 booths of local, regional and national artists from 10 states.  They have artists in a variety of media including: painting, sculpture, jewelry, fibers, woodworking, glass and more!

SUMMIT ART FESTIVAL MUSIC

The 2016 Summit Art Festival features 20 different musicians in three locations over the span of the festival. The tremendous amount of talent and diversity in the greater Kansas City music scene will be well showcased by singer/songwriters and instrumentalists of all backgrounds, performing a wide range of music encompassing folk, jazz, world music and pop/rock. These performances are one of the many components of the Summit Art Festival that keep people coming back year after year. Summit Art extends a warm 'thank you' to all of their musicians, and to Kat Nemati of TTD Promotion who has generously donated her time and energy to make the live music portion of the festival a success.  Music is supported through a grant from the Missouri Arts Council.
