Holiday Fun with the Fam: Downtown Dazzle

The name says it all. Downtown Dazzle - A Kansas City Holiday Experience! Visit www.DazzleKC.com - the website explains it all!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our #DazzleKC experience last night. We started the evening off at The Coterie (level one of Crown Center) for 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical'! What a cute little theater! My kids are four and six. This was RIGHT up their alley! The little ones sit on the floor right by the stage. So perfect because they can see everything going on AND the actors interact with the kiddos. The whole production was one hour start to finish -- just right for their attention spans! An adorable performance and a great way to kick off the holiday season!

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical runs through December 31st. Tickets are $12 for youth under 18, full-time students, and seniors age 60 and older. $17 for adults. Click here for more.

After the show, we walked just a few steps over to Crayola Cafe for dinner! It was our first time dining there and it was the definition of 'kid-friendly'! Lots of Crayola crayons and coloring pages. Chicken tenders, mac n' cheese, fries, chocolate milk... at the table within minutes. Happy kids. Happy parents. Dinner out with kids = not always an amazing experience. This place made it easy to enjoy!

Plus, it was fun to eat at Crown Center surrounded by the BEAUTIFUL lights and live Christmas music!

After dinner, we went over to the intersection of Pershing & Main (the Union Station intersection) for 'Luminate: A Holiday Laser Light Installation'. It activates every 30 minutes and lasts about five to seven minutes between 6 - 10pm.

"Quixotic, Kansas City's innovative performance art collective, is producing its first stand-alone laser light show as part of this year's Downtown Dazzle holiday festivities! The larger-than-life LED lighting display covers a 50,000-square-foot area spanning Pershing Road and Main Street in downtown Kansas City. The complete set of LED lights is provided by Platinum KC."

It was awesome! We all loved it. And, how cool to be outside in the middle of our amazing city feeling the holiday spirit, surrounded by lit up buildings and cool, crisp air? The perfect night.

Best of all? After all of that family fun... this happened on the car ride home.

A beautiful night. Start to finish.
