Ok, I want to start out by saying that I never, ever in a million years would have imagined that I, Jenny Matthews, would have gotten Botox. Brooke is sitting beside me as I type this and she still can't believe I did it.
See, Brooke will try anything. No fear. Me? I have to research for three years, read every pamphlet and article ever written on the subject, ask every person I know their opinion and then maybe... MAYBE go for it.
So, the Botox discussion has been going on for a while. I recently turned 41. It was time for action.
Brooke started working at Sunflower Dermatology. She knew immediately that it was the place for me. She got to know Dr. Matthys and watched how he interacted with his patients. I made an appointment.
My initial consultation was probably only scheduled for about 30 minutes. However, the FABULOUS Dr. Matthys spent about an hour and a half answering each of my 752 questions. I had no reservations. Game on. I was ready. Well, sort of.
I decided to start with my crows feet. That area bothered me the most. Results above. Look, I'm a skeptic. When I see before and after photos, I always think that some editing has been done to really enhance results. I swear on... my crows feet... that what you see is 100% untouched two weeks later.
U.N.R.E.A.L. I was SO thrilled with my results, I went for it! Dr. Matthys treated my forehead and that nifty little area between the eyes and above the brows - the glabella (look at me throwin' out a scientific term).
Things I want you to know. First, it did not hurt. Tiny little needles. Super fast. Second, GO TO A DOCTOR. In fact, save yourself the research -- trust me, go to Sunflower Dermatology. I know there are home parties and perhaps cheaper ways to go about it. But, I absolutely believe the only way to make sure you're getting the job done right is to go to a physician. A LOT can go wrong if not injected properly. It's your face. Do you really want to take a chance on that?
