Beautycounter - a real review.

Beautycounter - a real review.

Written by:  Jenny

I love my girlfriends.  So, when they sell stuff, I am a shoe in to buy whatever it is they're pushing because I love them.  If they're passionate enough about something to sell it... I gotta take a chance.  Therefore, I have a healthy supply of vitamins, candles, oils, jewelry and moisturizer.  It's just what friends do for one another.  Right?

Ok.  So, Tera started selling Beautycounter products, I wanted to help her out, so I got some stuff.  I was looking for a new line anyway.  Why not.  Plus, I saw some serious excitement in her face about the products.  She is big into fashion and products of all kinds... so I did feel confident knowing she had done her homework.

Let me back up a second -- I saw her several times not even knowing she was using/selling Beautycounter and I commented on her skin.  She glowed.  She looked refreshed!  She was rockin' it.

I.  Fell.  In.  Love.  I'll let Tera explain more, but I can honestly tell you that the products are legit and my skin has never felt so hydrated, clear and clean.  The Dew Skin tinted moisturizer is the bomb.  If you get invited to a party, go.  At least try it.  In my opinion, worth the money and I love knowing that I'm putting something GOOD on my skin every day.

What is Beautycounter?

Beautycounter is a company dedicated to changing the beauty industry by getting safe but high performing products into the hands of everyone! It's a movement for better beauty putting health and performance first.

Hi!  I'm Tera.  Just over a year ago, a good friend of mine introduced me to Beautycounter. She new I was on the hunt for new, safe and healthy skincare. Like most of us today that are trying to be more health conscious, I wanted to focus myself and my family on new safe products.  Knowing that Beautycounter develops and sells skin care and beauty products, where safety comes first, that meant a lot to me.

I tried a lot of different samples and immediately fell in love! That very first night I used them,  I knew right away, I was going to be hooked. One reason I knew, I didn't want to give the samples back to my friend!

Over the course of a few weeks into using Beautycounter, I was getting quite a few compliments on my daily travels, which made me realize I wasn't the only one noticing a change to my skin. Not only was I putting safe products in my body but I also truly loved the way my skin felt, the texture, the scent and not to mention, the packaging is classy and chic!

An added bonus, the Kids and Baby collection is fabulous! So now, my whole family enjoys safe and effective products, yes including my husband!

I really started reading and learning some interesting facts about the FDA here in the US and I was totally shocked at what I learned. Did you know that the US has not passed a major federal law to regulate the safety of ingredients used in personal care since 1938?

Also, the FDA (the agency that regulates cosmetics) allows companies to use chemicals known to be extremely harmful (lead, formaldehyde, and phthalates) in the products we put on our bodies and on our kids every single day, day after day. We see the kinds of chemicals that are being dumped into our everyday products and what I truly love about BC, there are NO hidden ingredients. In fact, they have banned 1,500 ingredients. Currently the U.S. only bans 11.

Beautycounter has an ambassador lobbying to legislation in Washington D.C. to try to get more bills passed for our safety. I love that not only is BC concerned with their current clients and employees, but the nation as a whole. There is and has been a giant problem and seriously needs to change for a better future, our kid's future.

For me, discovering all kinds of info that I honestly had no idea about, were reasons enough to try and better myself and family, I knew starting with our beauty regimen seemed to be the easiest.
