October 10: World Mental Health Day
Written by: Jenny
Today is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. This year's theme for World Mental Health Day is 'mental health in the workplace' - how can our workplace experience be improved to promote mental health and well-being. Here's a great article I found this morning discussing how illness in the workplace is more common than you think.
sheKC is so proud to partner with Therapy Threads. Founder Dani Singer is passionate about providing mental health therapy and the many threads that come together to make healing and wellness possible. She offers aromatherapy fashion scarves because of the healing properties of essential oils.
They're beautiful, soft, stylish and smell so good!
Today, more than one in five adults in America experiences a mental illness. We still live in a world in which discussions about mental health and wellness are had only behind closed doors. To help advocate for this growing population and erase the stigma associated with mental illness, Dani has made it her life's mission to introduce alternative therapies that empower healing.
Therapy Threads stands for much more than fashion and looking good. It’s about spreading health and well-being to every individual, and ending the stigma far too often associated with mental illness. The 10% of profits they give back helps organizations make an even bigger impact on those who need a helping hand.
Stigma isn't cool.
Let's keep the discussion going about mental health and realize that there is nothing to be ashamed of. You are not alone, I can assure you of that.
