For most of us, going to a game means watching from our seats and hitting the concession stand. But, many area teams offer the opportunity to give you more of a backstage pass. Several area stadiums offer guided tours, which not only make a great gift for a sports lover, but can be a fun date or family trip!

Kauffman Stadium

Forget seeing the field from the nosebleed section. For those of you #RaisedRoyal, the Kauffman tours feature a look into the Royals pressbox, dugout, and interview room! There are a few different options of tours, with some lasting longer and costing a little more. But the Legends Tour (approximately 90 minutes) is a bargain at only $17 for adults. There are tons of tour dates available in the baseball off-season.

Arrowhead Stadium

Head across the parking lot from Kauffman and hit Arrowhead. Get a 90 minute guided tour of the press box, Scout Investments Club Level, locker room, field, and the Chiefs Hall of Honor. These tours are offered Fridays and Saturdays year-round. An adult tour costs $30, child $25, military/senior $25.

Children’s Mercy Park

Soccer fans? Visit KCK to see the state-of-the-art stadium that’s home to Sporting KC. The public is invited all year long (tours aren’t available the day before a game or on game day) to check out the premium tower, press and media area, team benches, locker room, and the pitch. Tours are just $10 per person (minimum of 10 people) and include a free Swope Park Rangers ticket for all kids under 18. Tours last 1-2 hours and include use of indoor space to enjoy lunch (sack lunches permitted)!

The Booth Family Hall of Athletics in Lawrence

Rock Chalk Jayhawk…K-U!! The Booth Family Hall of Athletics is a 19,335-square-foot museum adjacent to the east side of Allen Fieldhouse. Guided tours last approximately 45 minutes and are available by request Monday through Friday (reserve your spot at least 48 hours in advance of when you want to go). Even better, these tours are FREE!

K-State Athletics Facilities

Grab some purple and head to Manhattan for a tour of K-State’s facilities. All tours are $50 per group of 25 people. You can visit West Stadium Center, the new basketball training facility, Bramlage Coliseum & Football Indoor Complex, or the Intercollegiate Rowing Center. EMAW!
