KC Christmas Lights - The Easy Way
Written by: Jen Johnson
I love Christmas. When I write that, what I’m trying to tell you is that Clark Griswold ain’t got nothin’ on me. I currently have three Christmas trees over six feet tall in my house, and nine (NINE!) small ones scattered throughout as well. When it comes to the outside, I’ve always wanted the perfectly spaced, beautifully colored lights outlining my house, and this year, I finally did it... by having someone else do it.
If you’ve wondered about hiring someone to do your lights, but weren’t sure about how it works, it’s really simple. I called Chris with Fagan’s Lawn Care and Landscaping, LLC, and he came out to see exactly where I wanted them, what color lights (red and white!), and to measure how many he’d need. That meeting took maybe 20 minutes (because I talk a lot).
Chris and his team came out to do the lights a few weeks later (I wasn’t even home... just left the extension cord set up for him), so I came home to a perfectly decorated house. He had the timers set to six hours, and voila, I don’t have to do ANYTHING, and my house brightens up like a candy cane every night at 5! As far as pricing goes, you can always ask lighting companies for an estimate, as I have found they vary greatly.
After the holidays (I hate to see the lights go…), Chris will come back and take down the lights for me, and then I store them until next season, when it’s time to brighten the house again. So this year give yourself (and perhaps your significant other) the gift of less stress and more time... let someone else put up the lights.
