Do Something: Shatterproof Rise Up Against Addiction 5K Run Walk Kansas City
Written by: Jenny
I will run in honor of Jimmy, who died of an overdose of heroin and alcohol. He was my big brother and I loved him with all of my heart.
The disease of addiction stole his life. A life that mattered. I will share his story in hopes of helping or saving someone else.
Addiction affects so many families. I want those families to know they're not alone. Far from it.
I am so incredibly honored and grateful that Shatterproof reached out and asked if I would emcee and take the position of honorary chair for Kansas City's first annual 'Rise Up Against Addiction 5K Run Walk' coming up Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Arrowhead Stadium.
If your life has been touched by addiction in any way, I would LOVE for you to join us.

Families will unite to Rise Up Against Addiction, walking or running 5 kilometers to bring the disease of addiction into the light.
Together, we can show families that they're not alone. The cure to stigma is love and support. This event is a celebration of hope and community for all those touched by addiction.
