sheHOME: Easy Refreshes for Spring
Written by: Sara Noble, Noble Designs
The sun is finally shining! I do love the nicer weather... I just wish I was more of an 'outdoorsy' kind of gal! Landscaping... not really my thing (it's that whole manual labor aspect). So, while I do get a little help with that sort of thing, I DO very much enjoy making refreshes inside the house to give my space a light, happy feel!
Here are three quick areas you can update for a simple change.
Trays are my favorite trick of the trade. You can’t have too many. They help organize the décor and bring order to the space. I like all colors, shapes and sizes. And I use them everywhere. For the dining room or kitchen area -- make a dry bar. Our black tray with a gold trim is sophisticated and priced well. A fun decanter, some beautiful liquor bottles and you are set. I like to mix in a decorative small bowl to hold lemons and limes which are a fantastic way to add color. An updated brass bottle opener gives it a rich look. Find all of these goodies at our shop, S&B by Noble Designs, at www.saranobledesigns.com.
I will pair these finds with some inexpensive low ball glasses. The ones pictured are from Target. Home Goods is another 'tried and true' source for glassware. Update the coffee table décor with a larger tray. Some fun, colorful books set the stage for our brass and glass ball. This is the show stealer in this grouping. It’s dramatic and modern but with the classic materials work with anyone’s style. A candle and some rose quartz give us our low-level décor and the then a fun cache pot for a plant gives us a pop of fun. Home Depot has great gardenia plants for $8.99.
Finally, don’t forget your master bedroom. For this one I choose a 'rock and roll' tray to hold my very favorite readers. A small inexpensive vase gives me a pop of color. Try a bold color that creates some contrast with your room for a little something unexpected. Target has a brass matted frame that holds a picture of your favorite loves. And a bedside carafe not only gives height for the décor but can prove to be useful when you need a nighttime drink.
So, start with a tray, add some color and have fun with your décor. These are easy updates you’ll love.
