Back to School: A Great Time to Join the Y

Back to school = back to routine. And I don't know about you -- but this mama is R.E.A.D.Y.!
Summer throws all of us off. We’re staying up late. We’re sleeping in. Joining the Y will help us kick-start our exercise habits, just as the kids are gearing up for their routines. The Y has a full schedule of group fitness classes along with individual training, swimming classes and sports programs.
Speaking of getting back into a routine -- it's the perfect time for us moms to start focusing on taking care of ourselves. Summer has been about vacations, kid's activities and racing around from here to there. Now that the kids are back in school and back on a more defined routine, this is our chance to focus on ourselves and our health. The Y is the place for health, wellness, nutrition, weight loss and fitness -- with experts on all of these topics including cancer recovery, diabetes, blood pressure management and more.
Fall is the perfect time to get our kiddos involved in a fall sport and get discounts on enrollment. Flag football, soccer and so much more.
It is so important to continue those swim lessons we started in the summer. We cannot depend on our children remembering what they learned in June from one year to the next. The Y recommends doing year round swim lessons -- especially at an early age to ensure those younger kiddos become strong swimmers and are safe around water. The Y is one of the only places with year-round swim lessons and a lifeguard on duty at all times at their pools.
