Life Hack: How to Make High Heels More Comfortable
Written by: Allison Swan
A night out in heels doesn't have to mean blisters, bruises, or feet covered in Band-aids. Heels should be enjoyed, not dreaded! Use these hacks to make high heels more comfortable.
Stretch your heels with ice. Fill plastic bags with water, making sure there's no air left in the bags before sealing them tight. Put the bags inside your shoes and place them in the freezer for about 4 to 8 hours. Let them sit at room temp until the ice thaws, or until you can slip the bags out of your shoes.
Wear thick socks with your heels on at home and walk around. Nothing will break them in like the aggravation of chores!
Blow your hair dryer across the top of the shoes when you're not wearing them. Concentrate the dryer on the parts that hurt you the most and twist the sole while they're malleable enough to loosen.
Prevent blisters by rubbing some deodorant on the back and sides of your feet to ease the friction between your skin and shoe material. Be sure to let the deodorant dry before wearing.
