Kiddos: KC Zoo's Early Morning Hours are Back
Written by: Jen Johnson
I don’t love being out in the heat, but I DO love outdoor activities with the kids, so I think it’s great that the Kansas City Zoo’s early morning hours are back!
Wake up with the animals now through Labor Day. On weekdays, they will be open 8 am to 4 pm. On weekends, they will be open 8 am to 5 pm.
Guests will be able to check out a great lineup of Zookeeper chats and shows for the summer!See birds fly overhead at Wings of Wonder, located in the lobby auditorium at 11:30 am and 2:30 pm. You might get wet at the Sea Lion Splash when the four sea lions show off at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm.
There are lots of new things to see at the Kansas City Zoo. Meet the new polar bear, Bam Bam, as she joins Berlin at the Polar Bear Passage. Visit the new rhinos and giraffe calf Dixie on exhibit in Africa. Or make a splash in Stingray Bay where you can touch two different species of stingrays (much squishier than I expected them to feel!) then cool off with the penguins in the Helzberg Penguin Plaza.
